About Us
Barrie First CRC is affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church which is a Protestant denomination of Christianity spreading throughout all of North America and has church agencies throughout the world.
Perhaps the best description of what it means to be Christian Reformed is found in the first series of questions and answers within the Heidelberg Catechism which reflect on who God is and that relevance to our daily lives.
Our Emblem
Our emblem is the cross in a triangle.
The triangle represents the Trinity, our belief in the one God we know as three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The cross symbolizes our belief in Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death for our salvation.

Our Purpose
- To be a community which offers comfort, hope, help, love, acceptance and the truth about God to those both inside and outside our congregation.
- To be God’s messenger of the gospel of good news and to be God’s agent in bringing about His kingdom here on earth.
- To sustain and offer encouragement and prayer support for our church leaders and teachers as they lead members and visitors alike to grow in their faith walk with God.
- To continually develop and expand our worship style in a manner which continues to reflect our values and beliefs. It is to be meaningful for members and visitors of all ages. Most important is that it brings glory to God.
- To encourage all members to discover their talents and commit the use of these talents to the glory of God and to further His kingdom. We will provide those who lead our educational, worship and outreach programs with the necessary resources.
- To provide a facility in which we can worship God in prayer, music, fellowship and biblical teaching and where our ministries can be delivered properly.
- To support with our financial resources, organizations that reach out and share the gospel to those who do not yet know God and organizations that show compassion to those whose lives are broken as a result of sin or the effect of sin.
